Punte Alberete is a small swamp in the southern part of the “Delta del Po”, near Ravenna. Po is the longest river in Italy and its mouth in antiquity was in this area; now it is further north, on the border between the regions of Veneto and Emilia Romagna.
Actually, I’m documenting all Delta (north and south) but I am particularly fascinated by this place, almost a treasure chest full of treasure, silence and stillness, and I wish to document the changes during the different seasons of the year.
The swamp represents an important step in the migration of birds, and also a testimony of how were these lands centuries ago: in the second half of the 20th century big areas of the territory have been heavily industrialized.

Punte Alberete è una piccola palude nella parte meridionale del “Delta del Po”, vicino Ravenna. Il Po è il fiume più lungo d’Italia e la sua foce nell’antichità era in questa zona; ora è più a nord, al confine tra le regioni del Veneto e dell’Emilia Romagna.
In realtà, sto documentando tutto il Delta (nord e sud) ma sono particolarmente affascinato da questo posto, quasi uno scrigno pieno di tesori, silenzio e quiete, e desidero documentarne i cambiamenti durante le diverse stagioni dell’anno.
La palude rappresenta un tappa importante nella migrazione degli uccelli, e anche una testimonianza di come erano queste terre secoli fa: nella seconda metà del XX secolo le grandi aree del territorio sono state pesantemente industrializzate.
